Gmail Plugin MailBrowser supports Google Chrome
ChiragHi,
Since the release the most coveted feature was Google Chrome support. We heard it folks! With this release MailBrowser works with Google Chrome. We were little apprehensive about the way extension works as there is no Sidebar support in Google Chrome yet. We just drew inspiration from their very own extension Google Sidewiki. Make sure your copy of Google Chrome supports extensions. Extensions are supported in the latest stable version of Google Chrome on PC and in the latest version of Dev Channel builds on Mac.
Calling your contacts has just got easier! With this release you can call contacts (via Skype or any VOIP application) just by clicking on their contact numbers from Sidebar.
Lately ‘auto-search current contact’ feature on Firefox stopped working. We have fixed it by getting rid of our dependency on the malfunctioning component.
Download the latest release from here. We’re very excited about this release. Please let us know your thoughts.
Update: This release also has improved context-sensitivity. In a conversation thread MailBrowser shows relevant information for the sender of the email that is active.
Cheers,
Team MailBrowser

thank thank for the chrome release…more and more Chrome is becoming my goto browser rather than Firefox, now that chrome has extensions…
the addon installed well into chrome..no problems. Maybe this is an issue with Chrome and not with your design…but I like the sidebar effect of Mailbrowser in firefox rather than the drop down menu in Chrome that always needs to be clicked in order to be activated. I like having mailbrowser up and always there while I am working in gmail..
now this may have less to do with you all, and more to do with chrome and their browser and addon specifications…
but so far that is my only comment – way to go and thanks for providing this with Chrome.
Bill,
It is a Chrome limitation. We also like the FF sidebar more.
Thats what I figured…thanks, bill
I am unable to get MailBrowser to work in Chrome (Chromium), even though I have the dev version and extensions are enabled. ANy idea what I might be doing wrong?
@Slartibartfarst
What is the version of your Chrome Browser?
The Chrome Dev version is required only for Mac build.

@Slartibartfarst,
MailBrowser will install extension automatically for Google Chrome, but it won’t for Chromium. To install Chromium extension you need to manually drag the mailbrowser.crx to the browser.
You can find mailbrowser.crx in the following location:
#Vista or Win 7\AppData\Roaming\Webyog\MailBrowser\extension\chrome
C:\Users\
#Win XP\Application Data\Webyog\MailBrowser\extension\chrome
C:\Documents and Settings\
NOTE: Make sure MailBrowser is running in the port 40000. For some reason if MailBrowser is running in any other port you can make it to run in 40000 by changing the port in MailBrowser.ini located in following location:
#Vista or Win 7\AppData\Roaming\Webyog\MailBrowser\
C:\Users\
#Win XP\Application Data\Webyog\MailBrowser\
C:\Documents and Settings\
Please restart MailBrowser after changing the value in MailBrowser.ini
